Alcobendas occupies a privileged location in the centre of Spain, with the best connections with other points of the country, Europe and the rest of the world. It is 11 kilometres from Adolfo Suárez Madrid – Barajas Airport (one of the most important in the world in passenger numbers), 10 kilometres from the Madrid exhibition centre and less than 20 kilometres from the Puerta del Sol (in Madrid city centre). Moving around and to and from Alcobendas is very straightforward. The A-1 motorway is the main access route. There are also another three main roads and a fantastic public transport system:

An amazing location
With 4,400 hectares in area and more than 115,000 residents, Alcobendas has six business parks, two industrial estates, research transfer offices and magnificent structures ready to welcome all types of businesses. Furthermore, the deployment of 800 MHz communication networks enables maximum mobile coverage throughout the city, and there is access to the fibre optic network with its 100Gb per second transmission speed.
All these infrastructures ensure maximum environmental quality, as Alcobendas is supported by Monte de Valdelatas, a large 300 ha. protected forest area with pines and holm oaks, as well as 28 large parks and gardens located throughout the city, making it one of the 10 cities with the largest green spaces per inhabitant in Spain (10 m²/inhabitant).
Housing and Education
In Alcobendas, there is a large variety of residential areas, from developments with magnificent facilities such as La Moraleja with its four golf courses and range of single-family homes, high-rise apartments and other types of urban accommodation.
It also has some of the most prestigious schools in Spain with a range of more than 20 institutions employing different educational approaches through different languages. Several schools have an international curriculum. More than 30,000 students attend university in the area at the Universidad Autónoma (the second best university in Spain) and two private universities, with a complete range of courses.
Sports, leisure and culture
Alcobendas is the only city in Madrid to have won the National Sports Award on two occasions. It has two sports centres with a large range of facilities and the best golf courses in the Community of Madrid.
As for culture and leisure, Alcobendas offers a complete range of cultural facilities such as the Auditorium Theatre, Art Centre or the National Science and Technology Museum. Residents can take classes at the Municipal Dance and Music School or stroll through different theme parks. If you want to go shopping, there are more than 10 shopping centres in the area with cinemas, restaurants, bowling alleys and all kinds of stores.
